Divers often sketch out the layouts of wrecks after a dive so as to orientate themselves on future dives, this enables a safer return to the shotline (or up line), this is especially true for the deeper wrecks. Divers do not not have the luxury of lengthy bottom times on deep wrecks and therefore try to navigate the dive site so as to maximize the enjoyment. This may not necessarily mean trying to cover the ground in one solitary dive but as a series of extended dives.
